Inks
My next step is to scan the pencil drawing and bring it into photoshop. I drop down the opacity and place a new layer over it to start inking. I use a wacom tablet to ink. Inking digitally gives me the advantage of having control over line weight, variation, and even value. I don't have to use expensive, giant pieces of bristle board to draw on and I can redraw a line over and over until I get it right. I ink Newman, Wizard, Snort, and the grass all separately. I bring down the opacity slightly on Wizard and Snort, based on their distance away from us.
